Fast forward to 2004. Most of the world's hashish is still manufactured using primitive methods that involve sieving or thrashing dried plants and collecting whatever falls off, but new processes and technologies have also developed.

Beyond prohibition

<image0>It was like a pot Parliament, and all the founding fathers of legalization were present. On May 8, 2004, an internationally acclaimed group of researchers, politicians, academics and other drug-peace advocates collected at the illustrious Wosk Centre in downtown Vancouver, to envision what the world might be like after the drug war.
The conference was put on by the BC Civil Liberties Association, with financial help from Cannabis Culture publisher Marc Emery.

On May 31, the Vancouver Island Therapeutic Cannabis Research Institute (VITCRI), which provided medicine to 390 med-pot patients, was raided by the RCMP. VITCRI was a nationally lauded med-pot provider whose founder, Phil Lucas, once met with Canada's Minister of Health, and whose activities have been praised by the courts during previous trials which exonerated him.

Alaska, California, Colorado, Maine, Nevada, Oregon and Washington have passed similar laws by ballot initiative, but only Hawaii has previously passed a med-pot law by state vote like Vermont.

Generally crooked cops

In November 2003, 30 Brooklyn narcotics cops were disciplined for conduct unbecoming an officer and faking overtime. At a base pay of $45 an hour, they stole thousands by falsifying their work records.

Growing in trees

Is there any advantage to this?
Mike,
Internet

There are several advantages of growing in trees. Ground-based search and destroy missions are looking for plants on the ground at eye level. A plant in the trees won't be seen because people don't usually think to look up to find cannabis plants.

Our apartment complex suffered a series of power failures over the course of one month. It threw my plant off schedule. When I was able to get light to her, it took two weeks to bring back vegetative growth.
She had already started to produce pollen sacs directly above each ovary and had pollinated herself. Since then, seeds have developed.

In the middle of my garden's last growing cycle one of the Jack Herer plants popped out a hermaphrodite pod. I immediately turned off all the fans and exhaust vents and removed the hermaphrodite from the garden after covering it with a plastic bag. However, some of the other plants produced a few seeds. I germinated them and am growing them under 24 hours of light.

To develop this strain I'll need to inbreed. However, this lowers the immune system and vigor. I don't want that to happen. To counter this tendency do I have to develop two separate lines that will be crossed eventually?

Our ganja garden guides sat in our rental car smoking torpedo-shaped Jamaican spliffs as the road twisted and turned, their mahogany-toned fingers stained by cannabis resins.

This results in a better yield.

Moldy pot

If buds go moldy while stored in a jar, should they be tossed out or are they fine to use?
Craig,
California

Moldy pot is not fit for consumption. Just as you wouldn't eat moldy food, you shouldn't use moldy marijuana. Molds use chemistry to deal with their environment. Many produce toxins and are dangerous. Salvaging spoiled weed is not worth risking your health. Don't smoke or ingest moldy pot.
