Accidental dark period

I leave the lights on 24 hours a day to encourage maximum growth. Recently the lights were left off for 18 hours. The light is back on continuously. Will that 18 hours without light effect my plants?

Irvin Rosenfeld, one of seven people in the US who receive medicinal marijuana from the federal government, is seeking an apology from Delta Airlines for blocking him from boarding a plane in March 2001. Rosenfeld claims he has flown with Delta a dozen times before, that he always warned them of his situation in advance, and that this was the first time there had been a problem.

I use 600 watt HPS lights. At the 6th week of flowering the plants sometimes shoot out spindly re-growth on the top of what is otherwise a thick well formed bud. Is this because the light is too close?

Busted in Texas

I am a college student in Texas (SWT). My house was raided. The pigs' response for them coming in without a search warrant was that they were responding to a 911 call, which is absurd. It seems someone ratted me out for growing one plant. If the law somehow convicts me of the charges brought against me, "conspiracy to cultivate," am I looking at a felony or a misdemeanor?

Cocaine vaccine

US regulators have approved clinical trials on a "vaccine" for cocaine addiction. The product is called TA-CD, and it works by generating antibodies in the bloodstream which prevent cocaine from crossing into the brain.
TA-CD is produced by British biotechnology corporation Xenova Group Plc. Chief Executive David Oxlade told Reuters that a product to help cocaine users quit could command a good price, since most are "wealthy and well-insured."

DEA destroys Lakota hemp

For the second year running, there has been a showdown between the Oglala Lakota Sioux Band and US Federal Officials, about growing hemp on the Pine Ridge Reserve in South Dakota. Unlike 2000's nasty piece of drama, which involved a surprise summer raid by gun toting DEA, FBI and BATF agents, this year's visit was scheduled and expected.
Still, losing a hemp crop on an annual basis doesn't mean it gets any easier.

On July 29, the Observer reported on "gross mismanagement and possible corruption" at the UN Office of Drug Control.
The article claimed staff morale is at "rock bottom" and that the contract of executive director Pino Arlacchi will not be renewed when it expires in February, 2002. Arlacchi is a former Italian senator who made his name fighting the Mafia.

Inhaler trials

British company GW Pharmaceuticals has begun clinical trials of their cannabis-based spray device in Canada, mimicking their research currently underway in the UK.
The device delivers a mix of THC and CBD as spray under the tongue. The two cannabinoids are isolated and extracted from buds grown at the GW greenhouses in England.
