"A mountain of garbage sat in the middle of the 'patio', (the courtyard central to the prison.) It literally stewed in the sweltering heat and sun. It moved with maggots and rats. Sewage in each cell was a filthy hole in the floor with a constant parade of cockroaches and rats coming from it. The prison had been built in the late 15th Century, and designed to house a maximum of eighty prisoners. At no point were there fewer than two hundred and fifty. The youngest prisoner was a eight month old baby.

Commercial hemp is finally legal in Canada. This means that Canadian farmers can now grow and sell certified low-THC strains of cannabis, with a permit issued by the Ministry of Health. This is a major step forward for the entire cannabis movement, and is a cause for great celebration. Congratulations are due to the cannabis activists, hemp farmers and many others who have pushed to revive this ancient crop.

The International Olympics Committee has announced that it will amend its medical code, adding marijuana and "other recreational drugs" to the list of banned substances for which athletes must be tested. The move is obviously in response to the Ross Rebagliati affair, as if the young athlete had somehow tarnished the Olympic image with his spectacular gold-medal snowboard run.

Marijuana and hemp are the same thing, so please stop referring to them as if they are different. If you must, use marijuana/hemp, that is certainly more appropriate.

I hate to see the proliferation of these Babylon smokescreens. Soon this propaganda will justify some dog-fucking CEO to make billions on the hemp industry while continuing to oppress the tokers. Cannabis Canada should immediately desist referring to marijuana and hemp as if they are different. Think about it!
