Medical grower gets absolute discharge

BC courts have sent the police a clear message to stop interfering with patients and their medicine. Bill Small of Roberts Creek, BC, was charged with growing pot. He convinced the court he was growing medicinal pot for the Vancouver Compassion Club, and although he received a $3,000 fine and 12 months probation at his original sentencing, it was reduced upon appeal, on June 28, to an absolute discharge.
