A terminally ill man discharged himself from a care home after being denied his ‘dying wish’ of smoking a cannabis cigarette, it has been claimed.

Former welder Patrick Ford, known as Dave, was diagnosed with bowel cancer in December last year and has now been given only a few days to live.

On Friday, the 70-year-old hoped to take advantage of a friend’s visit to his bedside, to enjoy his long-term habit one final time, but it is claimed he was told by staff he could not.
