CANNABIS CULTURE – John Conroy, a lawyer fighting the pivotal “Allard” medical marijuana case in the Canadian courts, has announced that a decision will be handed down this Wednesday.
Conroy wrote in a public email announcement today,
We have just been notified that Mr. Justice Phelan of the Federal Court Trial Division will be rendering his decision in the Allard case on Wednesday morning at 9 AM.
The case could have wide-reaching implications for medial marijuana users in Canada, including whether patients will be allowed to continue to grow cannabis gardens in their homes, or be forced to purchase their medicine from official government-licensed producers.
As part of the case – that’s been playing out in Federal Court in Vancouver since 2014 – medical marijuana patients won a temporary injunction against the ban on home growing, allowing them to continue to grow until a decision is handed down.
