Under pressure to have amazeball outfits for Toronto 4/20 Smoke Out, I think it’s time to leave my decisions to a pro. After nine years of outdoing myself – not content with just one outfit I now do multiple outfit changes – I seek fashionista(s) who want to work with my ‘Lady Gaga of Ganja’ style.
People are really into developing their own sense of style for 4/20 and I think my decision to go with fun costumes and not a suit has had a great impact. Media use our rally for cannabis b-roll and photos all year long because they can snap so much variety.
Basically, if I don’t find a fashionista to pitchin, I maybe out stoner styled by advocates High 5 and we can’t let that happen – I’m the host!
People who don’t understand showmanship and style argue stoners should be in suit and ties for public appearances. Dressing fun and outrageous is a no-no because some person will suddenly not support legalization, but I completely disagree and understand style impact.
This is an opportunity to have an amazable design or three appear before 15,000 people – with plenty of hype surrounding your choices – because for ninth annual 420 Smoke Out I intend – with your help – to go over the top huge.
I responded to this criticism for the eighth annual Toronto 4/20 Smoke Out by coming up with outfits that touched on three themes. Fighting the drug war and imprisonment, court goer, recreational inhaler, and infotaining freedom fight.
Intro prison jumper / boxing gloves / wrestling belt
Second act vintage custom fitted Hugo Boss suit
Third act vintage ‘50s smoking jacket replacing Hugo Boss suit jacket phat joint for that ‘50s lounge look.
Fourth act weed beads / tight rocker pants / 18inch platform boots / glitter jacket / sunglasses
