Washington State Liquor Board Releases Medical Marijuana Recommendations

On Monday, the Washington State Liquor Board came out with recommendations on how the legislature should handle medical marijuana now that I-502 rules have been adopted for the recreational cannabis market. The four page memo can be viewed and downloaded here, but here's a summary for those who are interested.

Age Restrictions

– 18+ year olds are allowed access to medical marijuana, while minors ages 17 and under are allowed access with parent or guardian consent.
– If medical marijuana must be consumed on school grounds, it should be treated the same way as other medication in that the medicine should be possessed and administered by school personnel.
– MMJ products can't be labeled to mimic candy or treats that would be attractive to children.
