Windsor Marijuana March – Marijuana is ubiquitous in Canadian society today; almost everyone knowing someone that uses it recreationally or medically, and politicians at all levels of government admitting to have smoked marijuana recreationally. Even with it being exhaustively tested to be relatively harmless to your health and having numerous medicinal benefits, the prohibition on marijuana continues.

The Windsor Cannabis Group feels that the continued funding to the ‘war on drugs’ has been shown to be ineffective, with drug use rates staying relatively the same and the fact that drugs have become more available than ever. It’s time for us all to open our eyes to new views on recreational marijuana use and ways to embrace it. The Windsor Marijuana March is about starting a discussion in the community on the Canada’s current drug policy, sending a message they are long overdue for reform and starting a movement to see those changes implemented. That way we can stop focusing our efforts on incarcerating adults for something that is naturally safe and legalize marijuana; gaining tax money in difficult economic times and regulate it to keep it away from minors.

Windsor Cannabis Movement – Started as an O.P.I.R.G. student group in late 2012 by, group president, Nikolai Momot, it aims to educate people about marijuana and the benefits of legalization, as well as getting smokers and non-smokers alike involved in the legalization effort.
