TMZ Recap Guptacular Gushing Got To Stop

I not just ranted, but frothed and possibly foamed at the mouth about CNN pot documentary by Dr. Sanjay Gupta. Tuesday’s webcast on Pot TV was Guptacular. My point wasn’t directed at the documentary, which Skype caller Al Graham from PACE enjoyed, it was directed towards he’s not that popular compared to his ‘09 stump against med pot.

Had Gupta done his research as the leading healthcare journalist, he could have easily found the information in his documentary in 2009. He didn’t look hard enough, but stumped against the medical marijuana ballot measures. Failing to mention that he has financial ties to the pharmaceutical industry.

He used his popularity to influence votes against medical marijuana, but a small blog, a round of media (to promote the documentary and to a lesser extent medical marijuana), one decent documentary that garnered 600,000 viewers and we’re Gushing Over Gupta.

I’ll forgive Gupta only after he shakes hands with every pot prisoner in the country while they’re being released from prison. A good start would be to appear at Seattle Hempfest and shake hands with every stoner and simply say “I’m sorry.”

His popularity isn’t what it used to be. The ratings came in just before the webcast and Gupta Special failed to dislodge Fox News Network hold on number one. He was much more popular in 2009, President Obama would tap him for Surgeon General in 2010, but since then Gupta cresting downward.

Soon he’ll be in front of Captaino Burger handing out flyers yelling “Gelatoooo” to passing stoners.

TMZ isn’t all fun and ganja games. Our serious side came on strong last night, surprising people out of their summer stupor, but it had to be done. The trivia question for my Marijuana Smoker’s Guidebook The Easy Way To Identify and Enjoy Marijuana Strains – I thought was really easy – name the nation with the largest prison population. Per-capita, per person, per everything, the USA prison population is number one. People who argued against me I think were just shocked.

We had great Skype guests, Russell Barth from Ottawa called in too. Our Skype callers are getting really good. The Potheads Who Don’t Smoke Schwag were really wild. They were stoned and had been fed chocolate, which had them making faces, doing the wave, and jerking off a water bottle, which can be seen in the background during the show.

Look for it!
