Vancouver Media Has the Marijuana Movement Covered

CANNABIS CULTURE – Vancouver newspaper editors love marijuana. Or maybe they just love putting reefer-related stories on their front covers to sell more copies. Either way, we aren’t complaining!

Obviously, pot is a popular issue in our town these days and it’s great to see so much coverage from the mainstream and not-so-mainstream press.

The Province started the fun with an article about decriminalization and Sensible BC Director Dana Larsen on the cover of their July 25 issue under the (unbelievably original) headline “WILL WE GO TO POT?”

On the same day, The Georgia Straight, probably the coolest and most popular alternative rag in the city, featured a double whammy of cannabis stories and a very green cover.

Fresh Vancouver got classy in their July/August issue with a powerful biographical article and gorgeous photo shoot featuring Princess of Pot Jodie Emery.

The Province featured another hilariously weedified cover on today’s issue, showing a picture of a dog wearing a Free Marc Emery T-Shirt, with an article about medpot for pets (with the nearly-as-original headline “POT GOES TO THE DOGS”).

On top of all that, I woke up on Friday morning to see myself hotboxing the front page of MSN Canada in a stock photo run with a story about CNN Dr. Sanjay Gupta admitting he was wrong about medical marijuana. Dopeness!

Glad to see the local press has us covered. Keep ’em coming guys!
