Bongs and Grow Books Banned in Canada!

All bongs, pipes and vaporizers have been banned in Canada by the Conservative government. Selling these items is punishable with jail terms and some of the highest fines in the Criminal Code.

Books that describe how to grow marijuana are also banned, as is any other written or video material used to “promote, encourage or advocate, the production, preparation or consumption of illicit drugs.”

The law, section 462.2 of the Criminal Code, is so broad that even promoting any “literature or instruments for illicit drug use” can get you 6 months in prison and a $100,000 fine for the first offence, and a year behind bars plus a $300,000 fine for the second offence.

Bookstores like Chapters and Amazon fall under the law, since they sell many pro-marijuana books and videos. But police raids have only focused on cannabis culture oriented shops.

Surprised about this harsh law? Don’t be, it’s 25 years old – enacted back in 1988 by the Conservative government of Brian Mulroney.

thats gunna be kinda hard since the american goverment is now distributing a weapon across the world that was specifically designed to battle protesters knicked named “the pain ray” it emits some type of a signal or frequency that is specifically designed to cause unimaginable pain without physical harm when aimed. talk about destruction of civil liberties, it is a clear sign that governments are preparing for something huge and horrible and people should revolt while we still can

Way for the government to be pill pushers. No one dies from weed, but people die often from pills. There’s an old man that lives near me with cancer, the doctors told him months ago that he didn’t have much time left. I’m sure if he’d taken their advice and taken their morphine, he’d be gone now too. All the government cares about is money..

Harper has not banned anything at all in this sphere within the past couple of years. As stated by others, this law has been on the books for 25 years. In the intervening quarter century, some marijuana use has been made legal. Since all those bongs & pipes can now be used in a legal fashion to consume marijuana, it would be very difficult for any prosecution to take place.

Laws like this have to pass the CCRF test in Court…..

CANADIAN CHARTER OF RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS

Whereas Canada is founded upon principles that recognize the supremacy of God and the rule of law:

Marginal note:Rights and freedoms in Canada

    1. The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms guarantees the rights and freedoms set out in it subject only to such reasonable limits prescribed by law as can be demonstrably justified in a free and democratic society.

I think this is an attempt to crush any hopes that Marc and Jodi might have for entering into poilitics more than anything else.,
If it is now illegal to speak or write and print certain words and ideas how would this effect the cause for marijuana legalization?

    No free speech in Canada?

Is that what Canadians are all about?

I WOULD HATE TO THINK SO!!!

You are my neighbors and I hope too you are also my friends in defending freedom for all who seek it.

The Liberal Party said it was adding legalization of marijuana to it’s party platform ,let’s hope so. Vote Liberal in 2014. Let’s end the insanity.

I know of a few stores that sell only items for cannabis uses. I doubt they’d just close down these stores that have been here for years. Besides, there’s medicinal cannabis, no store has to check medical cannabis license before selling to you, and there’s a legitimate arguement that those select few people need to be able to bongs and other accessories somehow.

Why? So they can also make all the money they possibly can off the prison system they are creating for themselves. Draconian is the best the government of Canada has to offer.

I can assure you the ruling party has no new ideas are are not interested in moving Canada forward but are hell bent on denying them their freedoms and liberties by attempting to legislate morality.

Haven’t they been watching? Legislating morality can not be done, not ever… It will always be tried for selfish self promoting reasons and will always be cloaked in a lie that assures you and your family that it is ‘always for your safety, protection and your families Security’.

They are going to put you in jail Canadians, by the hundreds of thousands. The hundreds of thousands.
Better start preparing or do yourself a favor and change governments.

Rock n Roll and smoking weed go hand and hand, always has and always will. Will it be banned next? Even Harper enjoys sitting back with a few slurpie’s while trying to imitate the Beatles or other classics that were penned and performed under the influence of the evil weed. It didn’t seem to hurt their careers. Hypocritical to say the least.

The problem with all you pot heads is you do not know the law.
    Or, how it works.
First off, you all got to quit delving in the realm of defensive posture.
    Go on the offensive.
A case called Brouwer/Kuiper et al v. the government [Mines Ministry, Regional District, Barisoff MLA, his family, and family company]
    http://www.ourcourtssuck.com/eisbrenner.htm

Now, go sue everyone involved in convicting/jailing/harrassing you for smoking or growing weed.
You can sue the M.P., Attorney General, police, judges and anyone else involved.
You salvation lies in the court rules and knowing how to use them.

Back in the 70s there was this same kind of backlash because prohibitionists were pissed that the highest rates of people admitting to pot use were recorded then. They did the same thing and got the pipes out of Spencer’s/Spencer Gifts stores at the malls, and with these kinds of laws put head shops out of business. Things just went underground. You either bought a tobacco pipe, made your own pot pipe, or bought one someone had made at home. Usually you would buy the pot pipe from the same people you would check out to see what kind of weed was around. You’d just buy the parts from plumbing stores or something through a mail order catalog or call them up if you couldn’t just go down to some local hardware store. You can use an apple or an empty soft drink can. Just stab some holes in the can or core an apple and put some aluminum foil in the one hole, stab safetly pin holes in it and voila, you’re set. Of course these days we have the Internet so all the grow info and parts for your own are a keystroke away. These prohibitionists may think like well I know they’re going to do it anyway but I’m not going to make it easy for them, but in the Internet Age that is as good as nothing. You can download in PDF an e-Book on growing, and you can order your pot pipe and bong parts online, assembly required. It’s not paraphernalia until after assembly, and then it could be for tobacco use only. These officials may as well just buy some car windshield marker–in white because they’re usually uptight white folks–and write “I’M A DUMBASS” on their car windows and house windows, and they ought to wear t-shirts displaying “I heart cannabis” prohibition on the front and “I’m a dumbass” on the back.
