Medical marijuana advocates are planning a demonstration in front of MP Russ Hiebert’s Surrey office today (Thurs) to protest proposed changes to federal medical marijuana laws.
Joy Davies with B.C. Medical Cannabis Partners says the new rules would force people who need marijuana for pain relief to buy a more expensive product from the government.
“So with the new laws they are taking away our rights to grow, taking away our rights to have someone grow for us, forcing us to go to the internet and order over the internet where there is no education.”
Davies is also calling on MLAs to work on establishing a B.C. medical marijuana program.
