The Jodie Emery Show: New Pictures, Private Prisons, and Upcoming Rallies

CANNABIS CULTURE – For the latest news on Marc Emery, CCHQ, and Canada’s cannabis community, watch new episodes of The Jodie Emery Show each week on Cannabis Culture. In this episode: Jodie shows new pics with Marc, talks about a private prison company lobbying in Canada, and discusses upcoming activism events.

Jodie has more pictures of her and Marc to share. He has 838 days left on his US prison sentence. Check out and for info about Marc and to read his prison blogs.

With less than a month to go before 4/20, Jodie launches a new website where you can find out all about Vancouver’s huge celebration. Go to for pictures, videos, the music line-up, and more.

Just after 4/20 is the Global Marijuana March, held this year on Saturday May 5th. Jodie will be in Toronto to join in there as she has every year since 2006 (usually with Marc, of course), but look online and in your community for info, or start your own march. Also in May is the Treating Yourself Expo, on the 25th-27th. Cannabis Culture will be there again! See for details.

International private for-profit prison company GEO Group, which runs many of the horrible private prisons in the US, is lobbying hard to open up for business in Canada. Write to your MP and tell them you do not want them here to trade Canadian citizens as prison products on the stock market!

Another winner is chosen for this week’s give away. Maybe next time Jodie will pick your name out of the Bubble Bag to win a fabulous prize! To make sure you are entered for next week, send an email to [email protected]

Jodie has great photogenic tv presence; Marc’s lucky to have you. Couple of format suggestions for the tv show: 1]On each show do a few minute spotlight of misguided justice-The pot POW of the week. Good example is Patricia Smith, featured on Willie Nelson’s Teapot Party Facebook site today. Middle aged-granny, no-record nurse, sentenced to 5 years.Make sure you show the evil judge and DA, etc so public can express disdain [2] lose the on-air bong-hitting. It serves no purpose, other than piss off prohibitionists. It’s not funny or entertaining. Nobody at work, whether tv broadcasting or office, retail, medical or construction can injest substances, whether beer or pot so re-think it. Off-camera, do what you must, but even that’s questionable partaking. Host can’t wait til shift is over? Maybe have a running gag where he’s hiding bong when back on air. [3] Less rambling; tighter segments-more informative or entertaining. I watched a couple times and saw no organized format-just too much ad lib rambling. Otherwise, Keep up the good work! PS-hope you got Joan Jett’s ok for your great intro song.
