VANCOUVER – Marc Emery, Leader of the BC Marijuana Party, is facing the possibility of life imprisonment in the United States for selling marijuana seeds over the Internet to U.S. customers. With an extradition hearing scheduled for later this year, Emery will share his thoughts on his case and discuss his cause during the final evening of the 2007 spring cocktail series, Behind the Spin: [email protected] on Thursday, June 7.
Emery is the publisher of Cannabis Culture magazine and is often referred to as “the Prince of Pot” by the news media. He has twice run for mayor of Vancouver, in 1996 and 2002 when he finished fifth.
Behind the Spin: [email protected] offers a unique opportunity to discuss an array of issues with opinion-makers whose leadership on key topics informs the news and public debate. The speakers for the upcoming [email protected] fall cocktail series will be announced shortly.
Interested media are invited to attend the event but are requested to confirm their attendance in advance as space is limited.
