AUSTIN — State Representative Aaron Pena wants to keep pot-flavored candy out of Texas stores.
AUSTIN – A Valley lawmaker filed legislation this week to ban candy that tastes like marijuana.
Rep. Aaron Pena (D-Edinburg) said the candy, known as ‘pot sucker lollipops’ and ‘chronic candy,’ does not contain marijuana, but it is package like the drug and marketed to young people.
Some of the candy is even sold by the ounce or nickel bag and promoted as ‘highly addictive.’
Pena’s bill would make it illegal to sell in Texas candy containing hemp or marijuana flavoring.
