Copping cops

Some cops just have the vibe that they need to cop a few hits to chill out. Maybe that’s why a 17-year-old in Minnesota tried twice to sell a bag of pot to the sheriff last May, waving him down with a pretend-toke gesture as the officer blasted by twice on his unmarked motorcycle, wearing a full-face helmet.
Similarly, in Ashland, Massachusetts last February, cocaine dealer Leonard Garland crashed a local party to sell his wares. Garland’s supply quickly ran out, but his connection refused to come to the area, complaining that the top nark there was too aggressive. The aggressive nark turned out to be Garland’s best customer, who promptly arrested him. The party was being thrown for off-duty cops.
