Fan leaf clip

Would clipping the large fan leaves by cutting each blade in half, to give light to the lower parts of the plants, harm them, or would it be better to cut them completely off?

Your idea is to trim off the fingers of the fan leaves, leaving the center part of the leaf. This would collect light but allow some light to reach deeper into the plant. This will provide energy to the upper part of the plant and the upper buds, but still get light to the lower buds to help them mature.

This is one way of increasing yield and hastening maturity. Another way would be to spread the branches open so they are more able to receive light.
