Med-pot patient and activist Steve Kubby remains incarcerated in Vancouver, BC, and faced another immigration hearing today at 1pm.
According to Kubby’s wife Michelle, police have executed a search warrant at their home on the Coast, and further marijuana charges seem likely. Kubby suffers from adrenal cancer and his use of medical marijuana is necessary for his survival, but he has been forbidden access to his herbal medicine while imprisoned.
The Kubbys asked for backers to come to the hearing at 300 West Georgia at 1pm as a show of support.
Ken Hayes, founder of a San Francisco medical marijuana club called the “6th Street Harm Reduction Center,” was also arrested again by RCMP. This is Hayes’ second bust in two months – he was picked up on BC’s Sunshine Coast on February 12 and charged with cultivating marijuana in Canada. Hayes was released from custody without bail and said he would seek political asylum in Canada if the US requests extradition. Details on this second bust are not known at this time.
Steve Tuck, who was arrested at the same time as Steve Kubby, has been released on bail and is free at this time.
