House of Lords report

A report by the British House of Lords Committee on Science and Technology has called for an end to the prosecution of med-pot users who grow for their own use. The report, released on March 14, also criticizes Britain’s Medicines Control Agency for making it more difficult than necessary for drug companies to produce cannabis-based medicines, and recommends that marijuana be rescheduled from a schedule 1 to a schedule 2 drug, to facilitate research.
This report is a follow-up to an inquiry released in November 1998, which also backed liberalizing access to medical marijuana.
