Late cloning

What is the latest time you can take a clone off the mother plant?

Clones can be taken almost anytime. Cloning of young plants and old but vegetatively growing plants is well established. However, plants can be cloned even when their buds are nearly ripe. They can be converted back into vegetative growth at the same time by placing them under a regimen of continuous light.

To clone a bud, remove leaves and flowers just as you would with a vegetatively growing cutting so that the unrooted stem does not have to draw a lot of water. Then place it in rooting medium after treating it with sterilizer and rooting hormone.
