Navajo hemp nation

Hemp cultivation in the Navajo Reservation in New Mexico received more support in April, when the Navajo Nation Council’s Public Safety Committee passed a resolution backing planting of the industrial crop.
Growing hemp in various chapters of the Navajo Reservation has been discussed for over 4 years. Unfortunately, the Committee also recommended “zero-tolerance” for pot-possession and cultivation, in an attempt not to be seen as “soft on drugs.”
