Police, DEA and other drug war agencies actively opposed the bill, as did Governor Shaheen. The bill was postponed for “further study,” where it has languished for three years.
? In February, the Illinois Senate Agriculture Committee voted 6-0 to allow a small hemp plot to actually be grown and studied.
The measure now goes to the full Senate, which recently endorsed a feasibility study into hemp farming within the state.
? South Dakota is debating a bill to allow hemp cultivation with a THC limit of 1%.
