>>> BoNgToKeR and Kushmaster, thank you both for your compliments! >>> BudMuncher..the vegetative cycle for the f2 White Lightning was roughly 5 weeks, though you'd never know it to look at her size vertically. As I've mentioned previously there was no need to top this plant (not that I would have anyway) as it was whorled and "topped" itself at the 5th node, when it proceeded to put out 4 or 5 leads, or tops. Prior to flowering the plant I removed these tops, as well as some of the sucker limbs from the bottom of the plant. >>> Krys0513..glad you like the photos! :^) The C99 x Neville's Haze is my own F1 hybrid. I made the seeds some time back by pairing my selection of Cinderella 99 mothers what I feel is a very special N.Haze Male that I've been keeping for some time now. As with most Haze dominate hybrids or other equatorial Sativas, Neville's Haze is a pretty tough plant to tackle indoors. Because of it's enormous growth potential and typically long finish time, flowering it from seed plants is a waste of time IMHO and still remain a challenge even when flowering cuttings. LOL..to give you an idea..typically a 4-5" cutting that is rooted, transplanted and flowered immediately afterward will finish as a 5-6 FOOT beast of a plant by the time it is finished flowering..typically in 14+ weeks (though the odd one is faster). Without going into great detail..C99 is a very early finishing Sativa dominate hybrid, and I thought perhaps it might be possible to utilize some of it's many desirable traits to create a Haze hybrid with my primary objectives being to achieve a plant that is manageable enough to grow indoors with a respectable finishing time, yet still remaining VERY sativa dominant in it's makeup. Initially I have to say that overall I am extremely pleased with the progress of this project so far. This particular Haze dominant specimen is a going a bit long in finishing at just over 12 weeks now, but I also had specimens that finished in under 8 weeks as well (See C99 x N.Haze "C99" phenos thread in PPP, or in my budshots gallery). All of these f1 hybrids that I've flowered out thus far, including the Males have all been incredibly manageable throughout their growth cycle, and these hybrids show excellent vigour! Additonally, some time back I also carefully selected 7 C99 x N.Haze males from among the initial test group of seedlings for an oedipal 1st backcross to their C99 moms. While these (C99x N.Haze) xC99 seeds still have yet to be grown out and tested, I imagine there will be greater number of earlier finishing plants among them. Once I have an opportunity to grow a few of them out I should have a much better idea of how I want to proceed with this project in order to achieve my objectives. That's about it for now..but let me know if any of you have any more questions as I'll be happy to try and answer them for you if I can. Thanks folks..hope the weekend is treating you all well! :^)_~ Peace, RCcola | |
