DEA Release Admits Marc Emery Extradition Politically Motivated
The US Drug Enforcement Administration admitted on the day of Marc Emery's arrest that his investigation and extradition were politically motivated, designed to target the Marijuana Legalization organization that Emery spearheaded and ran for over a decade in Canada.
Here is the original text of DEA Administrator Karen Tandy's statement released on July 29th, 2005:
Today's DEA arrest of Marc Scott Emery, publisher of Cannabis Culture Magazine, and the founder of a marijuana legalization group -- is a signficant blow not only to the marijuana trafficking trade in the U.S. and Canada, but also to the marijuana legalization movement.
His marijuana trade and propagandist marijuana magazine have generated nearly $5 million a year in profits that bolstered his trafficking efforts, but those have gone up in smoke today.
Emery and his organization had been designated as one of the Attorney General's most wanted international drug trafficking organizational targets -- one of only 46 in the world and the only one from Canada.
Hundreds of thousands of dollars of Emery's illicit profits are known to have been channeled to marijuana legalization groups active in the United States and Canda. Drug legalization lobbyists now have one less pot of money to rely on.

Who would have ever thought that the U.S. would make a political
statement with the arrest and incarceration of Marc Emery?
Every time the DEA/FBI/ATF/DHS/ etc., or even the "Pope" chastises anyone, they are making a political statement.
They need to "remind us" that we do not control our lives.
They need to 'martyr' some people so as to gain control of the rest. They play on our fear of reprimand.
They took away our right to learn how to take care of ourselves and our ability to live on this Earth without being dependent upon their rules, regulations and policies to 'protect' us.
They have effectively killed the ground underneath our feet and the air above by instilling the use of 'oil' and coal, poisons on our plants, water and food supplies, and fear for our own self survival without their guidance and mass produced products.
We the marijuana users always have and always will be an imminent threat to the governments of the world.
The war is on. They are making their 'political statement' concerning our rights as individuals. There will be many more who will loose their fight in this war before it is ultimately won by Mother Nature herself. For she is the only thing that the government does not have total control of.

To answer that question, it does not surprise me at all, thats what the us government is all about. marc emery is a possibly the biggest and most influential figure head that any cannibis movememt has ever seen and will probably ever see.Its clear that the reasons why the us government, or dea want him incarcerated for life, in us soil, go far far beyond the selling of cannabis seeds. marc emery besides being a cannabis activist(and a good one), he is also great public speaker, very intelligent and resourceful, and very influential figure to cannabis users, from what i gathered.
There are thousands of people out there selling seeds, in the us, holland, uk, etc etc etc, yet those parties are not being prosecuted by any of these agencies why? because marc emery is extremely influential, phylosofically and politically, so he becomes a threat, so basically marc has been making some noise, prince of pot this, legaliize pot that, and they want to quite him, erase him from the scene or circle, one less activist pot head to worry about, make an example, put some fear in the eyes and minds of any one that is considering becoming a cannabis activist. including myself and any one that has been arrested in relation to cannabis
