Seeds in Cyprus

Man charged with cultivating legal seeds

A man in Cyprus charged with cultivating 12 cannabis plants claimed that since the seeds were sold legally he ought to be able to grow them. Cannabis seed is freely available in Cyprus, sold primarily as birdseed, or roasted and salted as a snack. The court didn't agree with his logic and sentenced him to four days in jail.
