Chlorine in water

Does chlorine harm plants?

Does the chlorine in our town water supply do any damage to our plants?

The chlorine added to the water supply does not seem to have any effect on plants. It has been added to water supplies for more than seventy years, and houseplants and gardens are still thriving.
